The Student Engineers Council

This yearbook features the 2008 student engineers council. This council represents the multi-dimensional aspects of student life. Brian Rabe is the second person in the bottom row of this image. School spirit is illustrated by the shape of a T in the gradient of white and maroon polos, symbolizing the T in Texas A&M. Further, the group photo represents our understanding of a uniform because the polos the students are wearing are both school colors and specific to that organization. These uniforms reflect the wearer’s identity as not only a member of the student engineers council but also as a student at Texas A&M, which fits nicely with our theme of uniforms as a representation of student identity at Texas A&M. Fellow students can also relate to this representation of a uniform, as many students often wear A&M shirts or shirts from their own respective organizations to class and around campus.
